Two ways to delete your account
Option 1 — In the app or web (fastest)
- Open Spehre on your phone or web.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Confirm with your password.
- Your account and personal data are removed immediately. The action cannot be undone.
Option 2 — Email request (no app required)
If you've lost access to your account or prefer not to use the app, email us from the address attached to your Spehre account:
[email protected] — subject line: "Account deletion request"
We'll verify ownership and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually within 7. We'll email you when it's done.
What gets deleted
- Profile — name, email, phone, profile/banner photos, bio, headline, location.
- Career data — experience, education, skills, certifications, projects, portfolio links, resume.
- Activity — your posts, comments, likes, bookmarks, job applications, profile views you sent and received.
- Connections & messages — your connection list, sent invitations, chat threads.
- Auth & device data — password hash, session tokens, FCM push tokens, anonymous Firebase auth UID, presence records.
- Notifications — both your inbox and the realtime pulse records on Firebase Realtime Database.
What may be retained (and why)
A small amount of data may be kept for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons:
- Aggregated analytics — counts that don't identify you (e.g., "X users searched for React jobs this month").
- Transactional records — invoices, applications you submitted to employers, audit logs — kept up to 7 years where law requires.
- Public content already viewed by others — copies of your posts that recipients may have stored locally on their devices are outside our control.
Need to delete specific data, not the whole account?
Email [email protected] describing exactly what you want removed (a post, a connection, profile photos, etc.) and we'll handle it within 30 days.
